Our Story

In 1989, Jim Hoffmann founded Hoffmann Custom Designs, Inc. (HCD) with one single objective: to provide the finest quality custom cabinets at the best value in the industry. What began as a modest operation in Jim’s garage has grown into one of Chicagoland’s most respected cabinetry businesses, serving homeowners, builders, interior designers, and architects for over 35 years.

Today, our state-of-the-art facility in Mundelein combines the craftsmanship of highly trained professionals with precision machinery and advanced manufacturing technology. Blending time-honored woodworking with modern innovation, we create fully custom solutions—any material, any size, any shape—tailored to each client’s specifications.

“HCD is a great company. I first hired them to create custom cabinets for my client’s kitchen, and I was so impressed that I brought them on as general contractor for the remodel as well. The project turned out great and I couldn’t be happier.”
